Tomorrow I am ordering my first wig!!! It will be my first of many!! An old friend from highschool asked me on twitter why would I wear a wig? And quite frankly there are a few reasons.
- It’s the easiest way to change up your hairstyle. I can’t afford financially or with my time to go to a hairdresser and give up half of my day for a hairstyle that probably won’t last the entire week. I haven’t had my hair done since my wedding day. And that’s because I couldn’t really afford to and because my job required me to work Saturdays and the girl who did my hair, only did it on the weekends (Friday nights and Saturdays) so that wasn’t an option for me.
- I want to take better care of my hair. With a wig, my hair will be wrapped and won’t have heat applied to it on a regular basis as it would if I was to wear my hair out daily.
- My hair just doesn’t behave! If there’s a hint of moisture, it will frizz. It doesn’t wanna lay right, it’s just a real pain!
So instead of getting a weave glued in or sewn into my hair, which also causes damage, it’s much easier to wrap your hair at night and in the morning, throw on a wig and keep it moving! I would love to wear my hair down more if it would just cooperate. But it just doesn’t. At least not for now. And besides, for me personally, wearing wigs will force me to keep my hair wrapped. Thus, preserving my relaxer. So my relaxers won’t need to be retouched as often because my hair is gonna be wrapped most of the time. So wigs are the way for me to go. And I can’t wait to get started!
