Right now I’m watching Bridezilla. It’s a show that comes on the WE network, for those of you who don’t know…and it’s basically a documentary-style show that follows New York brides. What makes a bride a bridezilla??? Well, it’s when a regular blushing bride somewhere along the line morphs into an out of control, uberbitch that wants everything exactly as she states. So I don’t have that channel with my cable, and I’ve heard about the show, but never saw a full episode until today. I saw it on Netflix and decided to get the dvd. I’m into my 3rd episode so far…
I’m all about weddings, even after my own. I still like to watch shows like “Say Yes to the Dress” and I’ll always be into weddings. But I totally cannot relate to the Bridezilla!! I was the complete opposite. The closer it got to the wedding, the more I just wanted it to be done with! I was tired of the details. Tired of this tired of that, just let’s get this done already! I think that if you are a New York bride, you kinda have to turn into a bridezilla. I mean, I totally get it. There’s a lot of details and a lot of things that can go wrong when it comes to planning a wedding. Being in a large metro city, with larger expectations, make it even more crazy.
The thing that’s crazy…is that no matter how much money you spend, how great the people are you hired to do their job…shit is going to hit the fan!! I don’t care how minor or how major, it’s gonna happen. I know my wedding had it’s share of mishaps and a couple of major blunders that will always be an unfortunate part of our memories. I’m just glad that at the end of the day, I became Mrs. Brown. That’s all that matters. Which is why I find it so silly the amount of money people spend on an event. Yes it’s about the memories, it’s about the pictures, blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, you’re married whether u spend $100,000 or $25 for the marriage license! From what I hear, the shows get crazier in the next season…and honestly I don’t think I’ll ever find that out for myself! Because I can’t sit here and continue to watch this nonsense! (I say that and yet I tweeted that over an hour ago and I’m still watching)…well maybe I’ll watch just a little more…
