I have to focus more on what I want and keep my mind focused on that. What I know about the law of attraction is that you have to be specific in what you ask and have to have a feeling of happiness and gratitude and know that it’s on it’s way to you. My area of struggle is when something will come into my mind that throws me off my good thoughts. So then it takes me off of my focus. In my case I feel like from moment to moment I’m trying to fend off negativity to keep myself positive. It’s an all out battle! I won’t go into it all because it’s personal but just know that as I will be posting my status and progress updates, it’s a lot more than just weightloss. I know what I want. What I want is just for me. It’s not about anybody else but me. And that’s what it has to be for you. Let’s take this off of me for a second…
So let’s just say you’re a mom with kids. Whether married or not. As a mom you always put yourself last. You don’t make yourself a priority because your list of priorities goes on for days. It’s the kids, it’s the spouse, it’s the house, the bills, the job, the friends, the family, the stress, everything is pulling you in different directions. You may have started off this year saying you wanted to lose x amount of weight. Let’s rethink that. Let’s just say, what you want is to make yourself a priority. That’s what I’m trying to do. Make myself a priority. If i’m not a priority to myself then how is there enough of me to be spread around? This doesn’t have to be relating to working out. It could be that you just need to allow yourself 15 minutes of quiet time to yourself. If that means you have to lock yourself in the bathroom then so be it. But we all need to make ourselves the priority.
For me this directly relates to working out. Although the first several days suck royally, I know that I’m doing so much more for myself when I get up first thing in the morning and take that hour out for myself. In that hour to myself, just me and my workout dvd…I set the tone for my day. I wake up in a better mood because I woke up to my alarm to workout. Because I didn’t have to listen to my hubby’s alarm cycle 3 times, and then listen to him turn on ESPN, and groan and make all other kinds of noises. Aside from that, working out helps my energy levels throughout my day. And then there’s the obvious physical, health, and stress levels that benefit from my daily workout.
The key to getting what you want is to be specific about it. Write it down. Write down your goals. Write down your why. Write down your schedule. If you make out a workout schedule at the beginning of the week or month you have a higher likelihood of sticking to it.
