Who’s excited about tax free weekend?? Me! Me! That’s who! lol I live in the great NC and our state tax free weekend is August 5th-7th. Tax free weekend is a great time to stock up on school supplies, clothes, computers, and more. Many parents like myself plan for this time of year. Even if you only have $50 to spend…it’s better to spend it tax-free.
I personally have been planning for it, or thinking about it for the past few months. In my job we get monthly bonuses. So I was thinking back in June about the tax free weekend because that payout would be right in time for Tax Free Weekend. Hence the plan to get the computer. Now that the car is officially paid off, I have more money to play with. And to add icing on the cake…I got the day off!!! Woohoo!!! I had wait-listed the day off at the beginning of the year. Wait list means I can put in that I want the day off, but there’s no guarantee. The schedule for that week came out a week ago, and I saw I didn’t get it off. Yeah a bit bummed, but it wasn’t a biggie. To my surprise and delight, on Thursday of this week I saw that there was a schedule change and that I got the day off after all! How sweet is that!!! I’m glad because the plan was to avoid the crowds on the weekend and go sans kids. So this works out perfectly!
Not all states have a tax-free weekend, so google it to see if your state has one. North Carolina has had one for years. It’s a perfect time, not only to get prepared for back -to-school, but going off to college, shopping for yourself, or upgrading your computer like me!
