The best thing about the New Year is that it’s a fresh start. I’ve been thinking over the past week about what I wanted to make for my 2012 goals. I like to call them goals because I feel that your goals should change. Too often our Resolutions are the same year after year because we don’t look as them as a goal. We look at them more as a wish or a want.
Thanks to my friend {who was my former co-worker at a previous job and is now my co-worker again at my current job} who gave me a very unexpected Christmas gift…she gave me a notebook. You know one of those nice ones that you would find…and I was like this is perfect! Perfect for writing out my goals and vision for 2012. So that’s what I’ve been doing over the past week. I’m not finished of course, but I’m excited!
Some of my goals are more personal, so they’re only in my notebook, but I wanted to share some of the things that I will be working on. These items I will be doing many blogposts on, so if you’re looking to make some changes in these areas of your life, then stay tuned! I can sum up my plan for 2012 in this sentence: It’s my last year of my 20s and I’m going to bring 30 in with a bang! This year I want to have fun, fun, fun and become the woman that I want to be as I enter into my 30s. That’s it in a general nutshell. For now, let’s get on to the list:
- Get healthy. For the first time in years, I’m not going to focus on weight in my New Year’s list. Because it’s not about my weight, it’s about my health. This year my goal is to stay on top of the families health. We’ll be going to the doctor for checkups, and to the dentist and it’s about making healthier choices. Do I want to lose weight? For sure. But it’s part of the overall goal to be more healthy. Monthly self-breast exams. Making sure we’re drinking enough water, more veggies, etc.
- Save money. If health wasn’t more important than money, this would have been first on my list! But what’s the point of having more money if your health is suffering and you can’t enjoy it? So the biggest thing with saving money is because I’m tired of living paycheck to paycheck. That train got derailed. Now I’m focusing on living frugally within my means and saving so that we can fulfill our dreams. On the agenda this year: moving to a bigger home, having a week at a beach house this summer, and affording extra-curricular activities. {stay tuned for a blog post that will be more specific to this goal}
- Enjoy this last year of my 20s!! That doesn’t mean I’m going to all of a sudden start partying it up on the weekends, but I will get out and do more. I want to take more weekend trips with hubby, with friends, with family…just get out and do more! It’s all about making memories!
- Organize!!! I got into the organization kick a tad in 2011 and I plan on running with it this year! I need to organize everything in my life so that’s a huge focus for this year. My family binder will definitely be in use this year!
