I keep going thru these phases of where I want to cook more. I’m nobody’s chef but lately I’ve wanted to do more and more cooking. It’s not that I hate to cook I just don’t enjoy it. A few weekends back, I stumbled upon The Pioneer Woman’s blog. I love watching her show on Food Network and finding her blog was truly icing on the delicious cake. What I love about her blog is that she breaks down everything with both pictures and descriptions. It makes even me feel like I can cook amazing meals!
When I really think about it, I like to cook. I like taking raw ingredients and a recipe and turning it into a meal for my family. It makes me feel accomplished. It makes me feel like a mom. What I don’t like is the cleaning up of course, because that still makes me feel like a mom, smh. What I don’t like is when it takes hours to prepare a meal and in less than thirty minutes it’s gone.
But the real reason that I don’t really like to cook is that I don’t have a beautiful harmonious kitchen to cook in. 🙂
I currently have a tight, cramped kitchen that is ill designed. It has little ventilation, not enough cabinets, very little counter space. A beautiful kitchen with granite countertops, a lot of natural light, and tons of space for all of the pots and pans and gadgets and appliances to be housed…that would make me love to cook.
Irregardless, even without the kitchen of my dreams I have taken a liking to cooking and for that DH is happy. It’s a pain in my current kitchen but oh well, it has to be done so why not enjoy it a little. So lately I’ve spent a lot of time on Pinterest not just admiring kitchens, but I also love looking for gadgets and items that will help me out and looking at recipes that I think I can actually make and the family will go for.
