I was truly inspired this morning as I was watching all of the after the Super Bowl hoopla on tv.
Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts (love her) did an interview with Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Russell Wilson about winning the Super Bowl.
I had two big take aways from the interview:
1. Have the right mindset
This part is simple…positive begets positive. It’s the Law of Attraction people. It’s something that I know for a fact works. When you put it out there and you declare and believe and are sincere…it will come to you. My son Jordan is a product of that lol. No lie. But it’s something I have to work on because I’m not always consistent and doubt (which I say is synonymous with the word devil) creeps into my thoughts and before I know it I have blocked the positive from coming. But it’s the truth…think like a champion, act like a champion, believe you are a champion…wanna know what you become?
You are smarter than the average bear! You guessed it!
A CHAMPION!!
2. Why not us?
This one means even more to me as it’s something that I’ve been dealing with in my own life.
One thing I have realized as I’ve gotten older is that when God is trying to tell you something, he shows you in so many ways. So one day someone may say something and it stands out to you. Two days later you see that same phrase somewhere else. The next week someone is posting about it on your facebook timeline. This is how he lines things up.
So something that has been coming back to me over and over is that God wants us to live an abundant life. Not a life of mediocrity. Not a life of settling. So why pray that you can pay your bills? I see why, but what I’m saying is, why box God in like that? Is that all you want is your bills paid? Or do you want more? That’s me and where I’m at in my life and where I’ve been for a little while now… I want more.
In my devotionals and sermons I’ve been noticing everything is lining up with that. With finding out what is my more? What is my passion? How do I have the life I want? Outside of the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction…I believe it’s in asking for more. My vision board doesn’t have that I just want my bills paid. No. It has lots of dollar signs, lots of figures, places I want to go, things I want to have, feelings I want to have.
When I saw his interview this morning, where his father used to say to him in the car “Why not you?” Why can’t you do it? Why can’t you have your dreams? What’s stopping you???
So think about that…what’s stopping you???
You should come up with the same answer I did…
ME.
I am stopping me. Not anybody else. We like to blame others but in reality, we can control a lot of things in our life. I’ve already started to turn things around. I took a leap of faith and realized that doors of opportunity will be presented to you…it’s up to you to step thru them. I stepped thru mine and I’m beginning to reap the benefits.
So now I ask…WHY NOT YOU?
Here’s a clip of his interview with ESPN, GMA has taken the interview I was referring to down.

that's how I've been using it!
I like this for a motto! Its short and sweet and very to the point
sounds great!!! I think this is especially perfect for our youth!! So many things put them down including parents…thanks for sharing!
I agree with your inspiration and will be sharing with my Mocha Moms chapter this week! I think I'm going to frame "Why Not You" and put it in my boys room.
so very true. it's something I have to stay focused on daily!
you're more than welcome!!!
I too absolutely loved this young man's interview with Robin. Mindset is the difference between someone who's a champion and someone who's not a champion. We can be our own worst enemies.
This is really great and left me feeling inspired this morning! Why NOT me?! There is absolutely NOTHING except for ME holding me back from being the woman I want to be! This really got me thinking- THANK YOU 🙂
