Friends! Long time no see…what better way to get back into the swing of things than with midweek confessions.
Confession 1: This is my first post all month. Not a good look on my part.
Confession 2: The only way I’m even able to post this now is because I left work early today. Why you may ask?
This is why. I got this text message from my daughter earlier this morning. Our dishwasher had decided to leak or flood, I don’t know what is the best terminology. Thankfully she was home to tell me when it happened. What if we didn’t find out until they came home from school or we came home from work? Crisis averted. #grateful
Confession 3: My daughter turns 14 this weekend. Pray for me ya’ll.
Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé | Official Trailer | Netflix
Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé is a 2019 Emmy® Awards Nominee. This intimate, in-depth look at Beyoncé’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance reveals the emot…
Confession 4: The Beychella performance/documentary came out on Netflix last night and I’ve watched it and I loved it! Duh! Of course I loved it! I loved it last year when I watched Beyonce’s Coachella performance when it streamed on YouTube. It was so so so good! And I can’t wait to watch it again! I was able to watch it last year because I had a little insomnia during my recovery from my tonsillectomy.
Confession 5: I didn’t go to an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) but part of me wishes I did. I know I went to the right school because I love being a proud ECU Pirate Alumni. But there’s something distinctly different about the energy of a HBCU vs a PWI (predominantly white institution). The history, the soul, the band…the everything!
Although I didn’t attend a HBCU, I did get to go to a couple of events at NCCU (North Carolina Central University) thanks to my best friend from high school Shanita. She attended NCCU and when I was in school I stayed with her a couple of times and went to step shows and probates and it was great! But again, I love my school and wouldn’t take it back for anything. I did meet my husband after all : )
Confession 6: My best friend from middle school and high school, Shanita, passed away a couple of weeks ago. She was my maid of honor. It’s the first time I’ve had to attend a funeral for a friend. Who was my age. Who wasn’t sick like with cancer or something. Who wasn’t killed in a car accident. You know, something you can blame it on… It’s been very hard for me.
I’m not one for funerals anyway. I mean, I’ve only been to a handful in my life. Thankfully my mom went with me. Thanks mom : )
Confession 7: I need to put more effort into being a better friend. I shared this on Instagram recently, but it’s a shame how we grow apart from our friendships. Once you’re no longer near people it’s hard to maintain the same level of friendship you know? Especially without putting forth the time.
Confession 8: Why is growing my Instagram so dang on hard? That’s not really a midweek confession more like a cry for help. Maybe a post for another day.
Confession 9: I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time today. I went to get hydrangeas. Because everyone raves about them and Trader Joe’s having such great prices on real flowers. I’ll share them in an upcoming post. I also picked up a chicken piccata to bake for my dinner tonight and I must say it was quite tasty! I shared some of that on my IG stories. It’s on my highlights labeled low carb eats.
Confession 10: It’s not even 8:30 at night and I’m ready for bed. I’ve had a full and eventful day after all. I’m going to spend a few minutes in my planner and get ready for bed.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in with a quick post to kind of break me out of the no blogging slump. I have a few posts already in the works so there won’t be a two week break this time (or was it three? I’m losing count) They may or may not be posted by Easter, so I want to wish you a Happy Easter!! Enjoy the rest of your week friends!
Girl I haven’t seen the netflix movie just the trailer but i saw post last night from my NSU family and they said this is dope but if you hadn’t attended an HBCU then you still are missing out. I attended a PWInfor high school when I moved to VA only 6 minority and that was fine. But in NJ my school there was HB so I knew I needed that experience for college. Their is nothing like it….I absolutely love it!
too bad we can’t experience it all right! Can’t wait for you to watch it!!
