I started to decorate for Christmas with my gingerbread houses and my floating shelves! After all of my holiday decor bins came down from the attic it got very overwhelming very quickly. I have a lot of stuff! Deciding to start decorating a small space means I can actually make some progress without being paralyzed with overwhelm. Here’s a look at how I styled my gingerbread floating shelves.
The good news is that all of my gingerbread houses were packed in the same bin. They were stored away with a lot of bottle brush trees so it was really easy to pull this together! If only every bin was like that 🙂

For some reason many gingerbread houses can be pretty expensive. I have built my small collection with gingerbread houses from Hobby Lobby and At Home. Thankfully I get a birthday coupon from At Home and use that to buy a couple of new houses.
On a recent trip to Sam’s Club I saw this pre-lit gingerbread house and fell in love! It’s the perfect size and even better…the perfect price!
I’m so glad Target brought back these berry cone trees! I got them last year and may have to grab a couple more this year. They make such a statement don’t you think?
I at least want to get one more large berry tree…it’s very large as you can see.
When we decorate our own gingerbread houses this year, I’ll probably display them on the console table.
For the bottom of my console table…that’s another story. I have no idea what I’m going to do with that but that wasn’t the priority today.
What else have I started today? I put up our dining room tree. It’s a simple flocked slim tree. I got it unlit and completely forgot about that when I was going to put it up and thought it would take two seconds. For awhile there I was feeling like Clark Griswold trying to untangle my lights! So far it’s just up, not decorated so that will be happening next.

I’m just going to take everything bite by bite to help reduce the overwhelm. It doesn’t have to be all done at once…that’s what I keep telling myself.
Which is also why I’m starting so early…because it takes me so long! The sooner I start the longer I can enjoy it is how I like to look at it.

This gingerbread house is very similar to the one I just got from Sam’s Club. I’m debating adding it to my collection.
I don’t think they’ll work on my mantel but I love the gingerbread house stocking stuffers!

Also I picked up this gingerbread mug too. Clearly I can’t pass them up if I see them!
I shared these Christmas tree hand towels a few posts back and had to get them myself! They’re so unique to me and are a way for me to bring more green into my holiday decor.
As you can tell my love for gingerbread houses runs deep! Gingerbread, nutcrackers and tartan plaid! Makes my heart so happy! I’m excited to get more decorating done (keyword here is done) so that I can share with you. There’s lots more Christmas decor inspiration coming soon my friend ♥
That is a very nice Christmas display! Thanks for sharing!
