Welcome to today’s Parade of Homes tour! I’m excited to show you this charming craftsman exterior home! If you’re new around here then you don’t know how much I love craftsman architecture and details. I love clean lines and open layouts. If you feel the same, you’re going to enjoy this post.

This is a model home located in Holly Springs, North Carolina. If you’re not familiar with the area, Holly Springs is part of the Triangle. It’s a suburb of Raleigh on the other side of Apex. It’s a fast growing, family centered town.
The charming craftsman is built by Drees Homes. It has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and has 3746 square feet of living space. At the time of viewing, this model home was listed at $851,514.
I absolutely love the stain of the double doors. Having the privacy glass is great for doors like this because you get all of the natural light and can maintain a sense of privacy.
Throughout the home there is a lot of beautiful trimwork. I love the clean lines and the simple crown molding and base molding.
Off of the entryway is the home office featuring lots of wall molding.
A secondary bedroom or guest bedroom is located off of the foyer.
The bedroom has it’s own dedicated bathroom.
I love the craftsman style banisters with the clean lines with iron balusters. What I love about craftsman architecture is the clean lines. It’s one of my favorite design styles.
One of my favorite shots from this home is this view from the family room looking towards the entryway. This whole area is what makes me love this home.
Personally I would change the fireplace but that’s my own personal preference. From the floors to the coffered ceilings and all of the natural light, it just has a very casual and homey feel.
The outdoor living area features a painted brick fireplace and a wood planked ceiling.
The layout of the kitchen is perfect! It’s what I’m looking for in our next home. Lots of cabinet space that go up to the ceiling. Beautiful countertops and backsplash.
If I can’t have the range hood connected to the cabinets, I’ll take this range hood as a compromise. I’m not a fan of the stainless steel vent hood.
Walking into the kitchen and turning the corner to see the beautiful floating shelves was such a pleasant surprise! I’ll show you a close up in a moment.
The dining room is right off of the kitchen. There isn’t a second dining space, which I’d prefer but I do love the layout of this casual dining room.
It can accommodate a large dining table as well as a sideboard and has lots of light streaming in.
Isn’t this coffee bar space just perfect? I’d love the floating shelves to extend the whole width of the wall. But can’t you just see the shelves being decorated and an espresso machine with a tiered tray? Or is that just me 🙂
On top of the decorating possibilities, there’s even more drawer and cabinet storage.
To the right of the coffee bar is the walk in pantry. I like that it’s out of view of the primary kitchen space.
To the left of the coffee bar is the laundry room and what they’re calling the family ready room. It’s right off of the garage entrance so it is kind of like a mud room space too.
An additional refrigerator is a must for a growing family or a family with teenagers. Adding a space for washing the family pooch is a bonus. This would be the perfect space for a crate and to keep the dog food.
Even more storage abounds in the laundry space including a utility sink.
Here’s a closer look at the dining room. This table fits six but I think the space can easily accommodate a table that can seat eight and perhaps extend to ten when needed without feeling too cramped.
The majority of the bedrooms are on the first floor including this secondary bedroom with an attached bathroom. This bedroom is on the other side of the kitchen and dining room.
The herringbone subway tile backsplash in the shower is a great touch. I’d like it to go all the way up to the ceiling.
The master bedroom is also on the main floor. It’s on the other side of the family room. As you can see the room is quite spacious and I love the board and batten.
What I love about the master bedroom is the master bathroom. Touring the model, there wasn’t a door on the bathroom so I’m not sure if that’s just because it was the model. A bathroom needs a door!
Aside from the door, this bathroom is so spacious and pretty much perfect if you ask me!
I love having separate vanities because it provides so much storage and I’m sure less arguments!
We get both a soaking tub and a large shower. Win-win!
On the second floor there is another bedroom. It’s a boys basketball themed bedroom with blue painted shiplap accent wall.
The bathroom is shared on the second floor between the bedroom and game room.
A pocket office is located on the second floor. It’s great for a homework space or virtual learning. It’s also great if you need a secondary home office.
Last up in the Charming Craftsman house is the game room/bonus room. It’s a large open space that allows for multiple uses.
Overall I really like this house and can see it working out for our family. It’s hard for me to look at a home like this and not immediately think about how it could work for us.
Technically it’s a one and a half story home and I’d prefer a full two story home. If you’d like to see more details about this particular home you can check it out here.
The neighborhood is really nice and I like the Holly Springs area. If you’re looking for a smaller town feel with close proximity to the city, it’s a great fit.
There’s a new construction neighborhood by Drees home not too far from where we currently live and I’ve been looking at it as an option for us. Seeing the options in this house has opened my eyes to this builder and I like what I see.
