I have a new friend. Their name is Rite-Aid. And Rite-Aid has become my 2nd favorite drugstore behind CVS. I’ve recently started shopping at Rite-Aid. CVS is my first choice for drugstores. But now that I’m really getting the ins and outs of it, I’m really liking Rite-Aid. I just wanted to share why.
For starters, they’re very similar to CVS in that they give you rewards back. At CVS they’re called Extra Care Bucks (ECBs for short). At Rite-Aid they’re called +UP Rewards. They work the same as cash. So if you buy what they have put in their ad as something that will give you +UP Rewards, then you will get a printout on your receipt for the amount and will be able to use it on your next purchase. The difference I have found, is that they’re not good for as long as the ECBs are at CVS.
Where they step the game up is their other ways to save. And I’m sure there’s more, but these are just the ones I’ve used so far. I don’t get prescriptions filled there, but if you do, I think you get extra perks. They have Video Value coupons. Watch a brief video on their website and you get to print a coupon for that product. Last but certainly not least are the Single Check Rebates. Each month they put out certain products that by purchasing, you can enter the info from your receipt on the website, and you will get that amount sent to you via check.
Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:
The first deal: Buy $10 in Revlon products get $4 +UP Reward. Plus I had a coupon for $1 off Revlon PhotoReady. On top of that I will get $2 back in Single Check Rebates.
The second deal was spend $10 on Maybelline Eye or Face products get $3 +UP Reward. Plus it was BOGO 1/2 off. And I had a coupon for $1 off each item.
With the Revlon deal, I only had to buy the foundation because it was over $10.00. The Maybelline mascara was $7.39 and the eyeliner half off was $3.64. I knew I had to buy two items for this deal. And I don’t mind because all of the items I purchased, I actually want to try.
I had $4 in +UP Rewards that I used to pay for the transaction. And I paid out of pocket $17.02 before tax. I got $7 in +UP Rewards back. Not bad at all. Retail price would have been $28.67. I saved approx 40% not including the +UP Rewards that I got back 🙂
I’m pleased. As an added bonus, Rite-Aid has a promotion going on right now called Winter Rewards. You get $20 +UP Rewards when you spend $100 on specially marked items. And there are a ton of them! Everything I got today qualified me for that promo. This is the best way to get drugstore makeup too. There’s just no need to pay full price for your drugstore makeup people!!!
Who else loves Rite-Aid???
