Knowing that I want to move desperately, it changes how I look at things.
When I come home from work I am instantly overwhelmed by all that looks bad in my home. I’m looking at the mail stacked up next to the front door. The magazines, paperwork and coupons on the dining room table {that’s Mommy’s fault, I’ll take ownership}. The pileup of dvds and video games on the entertainment center. The incessant pileup of everything on the computer desk. And that’s just what I can see from the front door.
Let’s not even step foot in the kitchen.
How in the heck did my Mom do it????
Since it’s the unofficial start of Summer, I am officially getting ready to move.
I’m all about the LOA as you know and I am definitely putting it to the test. I know that regardless we will be moving in the coming months and there’s no way around it. We’re out of space and I’m tired of paying in utilities what I should be paying in a larger rent.
I’m tired of trying to organize what can’t be organized. There’s no space. No storage and we are bursting at the seams.
I’ve decided that because it’s the beginning of Summer and I have a few days off coming up in the next few weeks, that I’m going to prepare to move. I’m going to downsize, go thru all of the crap we keep piling up and get it out of here. I was reading around Pinterest and got inspired by a post about how the older generations didn’t live in clutter and they had very little storage space. I live in an older home and so I know this is the truth and I need HELP!!
I’m getting started today, tackling one thing at a time, I don’t want to make it even more stressful by trying to do too much at once. Not only do I want to remove the clutter and the stress, I want to do it with as little expense as possible.
So first up is going thru two bins. I have a few of these Closetmaid Cubicles from Target throughout the house.

Some of the bins are actually storing things and others are just filled with piles of crap. So the mission for the rest of this week, focusing on the front rooms, is to go thru each of these bins and throw out any crap, put the non crap where it needs to go and then I will move on to the next step. Now I know that I need more storage solutions, but you can’t go out and buy organizers when what you already have isn’t working out. I am always tempted to buy more of these bins when they’re on sale. Not gonna do it!
What a lovely blog you have! I’m glad I found it. Keep it up!
