I have been settling for mediocrity in my life. There’s no one to blame but myself. So before I lose everything that I love and want in my life, it’s time to put forth some roll up my sleeves effort. There’s no point in complaining about what I don’t have time to do. I have to make time. When I think about it, I remember when I was younger, hearing my mom clickety-clacking away at the computer until the late hours….she was a single-mother, working full-time, and working on her college degree. It wasn’t easy for her, but she did what she needed to do to provide for me and my brother. I draw strength from her. I may not be naturally inclined to be a domestic goddess…there’s nothing about that in me…so I have to be self-taught. It’s not just that, it’s many many aspects of my life, that if I don’t take the time to change them now…not only will it cost me immensely in my present life, it would be me never growing as a woman. Like, maybe it doesn’t just click and all of a sudden you’re Suzy Homemaker. So I have to learn on my own.
I’ve decided to take small steps, maybe 2 or 3 things a week that I will change. I’m committed to making real changes in my life. I’m not happy with where I am and quite frankly, if I don’t make the changes now, it won’t happen anytime soon and that would be to my detriment. So here we go…it’s time to make me over.
This week I’m committing to 3 changes. I haven’t written them down yet, just deciding as I type…I will write them down in my personal journal because I am going thru some very personal times right now. But I have to make myself accountable.
- Stick to workout schedule. For me this is so tough bc of there always being something that trys to keep me on the sidelines. Thankfully as of now my back is feeling better than it has in a couple of days. I’m determined that unless I can’t move without pain, I will workout with modifications if needed. I will also be logging my workouts on wowy. www.teambeachbody.com/Aria82
- Five-minute breaks. I will take 5 minutes each evening to make sure that everything is picked up around the house. We have a clutter issue and this will help so much.
- Plan ahead. For right now this means me doing at night what takes extra time in the mornings. This is a no-brainer that I used to do anyway but for some reason, became something I stopped doing. That’s making sure that the kids clothes, my clothes and everything that’s needed for the morning is out and ready the night before.
thank you for following! and thank you for your support 🙂 I think most weeks I will try to stick with 2 if not 1 change, especially if it's a larger change…I did 3 this time bc the last 2 I feel are easy to incorporate without taking more than 10 minutes out of my evenings 🙂
I wish you much success in your goals this week, but if you cannot achieve all 3 maybe cut back to mastering at least 2 before you move on. This way if you fall short you won't be tempmted to give up out of frustation. Good luck I already follow you on twitter and will try and check out your blog also.
