Ya know I try for some reason not to bring politics over to my blog…not sure what reason that is seeing as how my blog is a reflection of me and my blog is pretty open in topics…I don’t limit myself to a niche… yet here I am skirting around why I don’t go there here on my blog.
Well there are hundreds of political blogs out there…hundreds of youtube channels…I’m not going to go there now…quite frankly I don’t have that time. I don’t have the time to devote to my blog on that level and same with videos. Nor do I have time to deal with all of the negative energy. Oh I know why, it just hit me…because I’m right now in the middle of transition and although I have freedom of speech, I just don’t want to have the hassle and have anything that I post online or whatever to affect my next step. If that makes any sense. So maybe next election guys! lol
With that being said…when I first came across this pic…it incited something in me. So here’s my way of sharing it to all. You see I’m very vocal on facebook, twitter and instagram. I welcome healthy debate. I don’t welcome ignorance and disrespect. And although we do have free speech in this country…you come to realize that ones political affiliation can say a lot about ones character, don’t you agree? Not in all aspects, but for some things yes.
For example, we don’t have to agree on gay marriage, we don’t have to agree on abortion…but when you stand and agree with things like voter suppression, I have a problem with that. I’m not going to go into all the aspects that will make my Spidey Sense go off, but let’s just say that I feel that there are some things I can’t get past. It’s about being unequally yoked.
But anyway, I’m getting off topic…I try not to overkill and overpost my support for President Obama on social media. But sometimes it happens, especially during the debates! When you feel the need to say that I’m posting too much…I find that rather interesting. Comical even. Because yeah some of my Anti-Romney posts are funny but I’m not posting just to make fun, I’m posting to open ones eyes. I don’t engage in rude and ignorant conversations about politics. I will have a conversation sure, in a heartbeat. I won’t discuss what I don’t know. I’m not ignorant. I don’t pretend to know everything and if we go into a topic that I’m not familiar on then I will say that up front. If I post something and you question the validity of it, I will verify it for you. {had that happen recently during debates when the one time I posted something without a link, I was called on it! lol} But I love that! Call me out on it and we can discuss. The moment the convo turns into ignorance then I have to leave it. {Instagram is off the chain! lol} Because there’s no point in arguing with an ignorant person. Why stoop to their level? There’s no need for that.
If you’re bothered by what I post by all means…unfollow, unfriend, or hide me…do whatever you feel. Because I won’t stop. Why? Because of this picture right here. Don’t you think they wanted them to stop pushing forward? To stop trying to make a change? To stop being heard? They didn’t stop and neither will I. I may not be able to march and rally in those same ways, but I can do my part to make my voice heard and support moving this country forward. And the only way at the end of the day is to do one thing that is your right as a citizen of this country….VOTE.
