I was thinking of ways to give my readers great tips and ideas for saving money. So I decided to come up with Ways To Save and this series will just be me sharing tips and tricks and ideas that I find.
I feel like I want to still share info that I learn, but I’m not a “savings blog” blogger. I don’t post coupon match-ups and things of the like. I blog about all kinds of things and things that I’m interested in. So anyway, enough rambling…on to the tips!
It’s Christmas in July!!! Take advantage of layaway plans at Sears, Kmart or Toys R Us to buy gifts you can pay for over 8-12 weeks. I just found out about Toys R Us but I was planning on doing that with Kmart! I personally think Walmart messed up big time when they got rid of their layaway program.
Plan for pre-holiday sales. Independence Day and Labor day (Memorial Day too) offer great opportunities to stock up on pantry items on a deep discount. I know I was able to get some great deals before the 4th of July on ketchup and salad dressing and mayo.
Sign up for great websites!! Let the web do the work for you! Check out my recent posts on Shop It To Me and Rakuten! If you find more sites let me know!!!
Cut down some on energy costs. We all know that you should set your thermostat lower to save money, but did you know that if you’re not in the room then you need to turn the ceiling fan off? I used to leave mine on because I figured it would keep the room cool, but it doesn’t! Recent articles I’ve read say that a fan is used to create a breeze, if you’re not occupying the room, turn the fan off!
It is my goal to post these frequently as I find tips. It’s about us finding ways to stretch our dollar. Times are tough for us all and even if they’re not so tough for you, taking advantage of these tips helps your dollar go further. Every little bit counts!
