I was inspired to do this project by this post at I Heart Organizing blog. Click the link to see the full post. I decided to make this tweak to my coupon binder for my Target coupons mainly. My Target coupons don’t fit nice and neat in my coupon binder and when I go to Target I’m usually just in there for something specific but find myself getting alot. My coupon binder just doesn’t work for me to bring it into Target the way it works for me in Harris Teeter. I don’t know why, that’s just how it is for me. So I decided this would work out well for my Target coupons specifically. I’m also doing CVS and Walgreens and Walmart. These will just make my coupon binder work even better for me!
Did I mention that I’m not very crafty? A co-worker gave my daughter a scrapbooking kit that I’ve pretty much kept hidden away because my daughter doesn’t keep up with her basic stuff so I knew I didn’t want all of these pieces laying around. But when I started thinking about making my binders, I decided that I could use some of the items from this kit. So I pretty much did all of this without having to spend any money. And for now these will work for me…if they fall apart then I’ll just get some stock paper from Michael’s or something, to help it hold up.
If you’re interested in how I did this…here’s what I used:
- squares of colorful printed paper that I cut out for my envelopes.
- for the Target envelope I used an envelope that came with a greeting card because those coupons are a bit larger, for the rest, I used standard size envelopes. {if you were also going to use one for store coupons {JCP, Kohls, etc} then I suggest using a greeting card envelope because those coupons are usually big.
- a handy glue stick and some clear tape. the tape is used to seal sides and bottom of the envelope.
- labels. In a perfect world I would have already had some Avery labels and I would have just ran them thru the printer…but I made do with a combo of sticker letters and other labels from the scrapbooking kit and I reinforced them with the tape.
What do you think? I definitely feel like I got better as I continued! lol that poor Target envelope! Overall I’m pleased 🙂
