As a mom, there are a few things that are coveted. One of those things are the rare opportunities to be sans-children. Don’t get me wrong…I love my children, but they have been working my nerves for the past few weeks! Work has been uber stressful. I haven’t had a true day off in ages. And I’m embarassed to say…but since our Myrtle Beach weekend in September, I have been slack in the domesitcated goddess category 🙁
So since my mother had a break in her busy schedule, she offerred to keep the kids this weekend and I am truly grateful! I really just need some time to myself and some time alone with my hubby. So what’s on the agenda?
Well, I called myself sleeping in and setting my alarm for 7 this morning so I could go to Harris Teeter….my body woke me up at 6:50! No biggie. For me it’s not about sleeping in…because my body doesn’t let me sleep but so late. It’s about waking up when I want to and being able to go to get groceries without having to rush home to get back before the kids are up and rowdy. It’s also about the option of taking a nap. I don’t get that option regularly.
In about an hour I’m going to take my first Zumba class. I don’t get to go workout on Saturdays due to the children and hubby. Most classes are offerred to late in the morning for it to work for me. The class is at 10:30. Since I don’t have to worry about the kids, I get to take some time for myself.
I purchased a coupon book for my city thru a fundraiser and it has some awesome coupons. So the hubby and I will be going bowling later this afternoon. We don’t get to get out and do things together much so I thought this was a perfect opportunity. He’ll probably beat me but I don’t care! We’ll probably go out to eat and settle home to watch the Pirates play tonight. Hopefully it’ll be a win!
And in between all of that, I will be doing some cleaning, organizing and blogging! I love it! I hope you enjoy your day, because I will be enjoying mine for sure!
