Today was my first Super Doubles trip…ho hum…let’s get started…
For starters can I just say that my usual dismay when it comes to couponing events are that it sucks for us working people who can’t devote as much time to preparing for the event and then going first thing on day 1. Well now that I work a later shift…I can no longer have that complaint. So today, on Friday was my first trip. I will be going for the rest of the weekend is the plan and into the next week since there are tons of coupons coming out Sunday.
As you know, this year it’s about going more extreme…taking my savings up several notches. There were a couple of bumps in my road today, but overall I did okay.
Retail price: $130.91 Amount paid: $58.69 Amount Saved: $72.22 = 55%
If you don’t know how to calculate your savings… most receipts make it easy to calculate…thankfully Harris Teeter does. So take the amount you saved which for this receipt is “coupons tendered”. Add that amount to the amount you paid minus taxes. (you can include tax if you want, it’s a personal choice). This total is your retail price…pretty scary huh? lol. Take your amount saved and divide it by the retail price and you get your percentage saved…hopefully you know how to do math and know you have to move the decimal point! lol
Now onto the actual deets already. Now first let’s talk my snags. There were only two items that were not available…I was going to get Ludens cough drops for free…all gone. And also was going to get Garnier Fructise conditioner for really cheap…all gone. My other snafu was a very first…I’ve never had to take something out of my cart because the coupon wouldn’t double. And it’s obvious that plenty of people have doubled them because all of the female Bic razors were sold out…I got a couple of the mens and with a $2 coupon was planning to get them for free or very cheap. But the cashier says the coupon says do not double…never has stopped my Harris Teeter before…but hey…I roll with the punches…no biggie…didn’t need them because I already have stock of razors lol.
