It’s becoming more commonplace that if and when there is a couponing event, yours truly is not prepared. I have to find more sources. I used to know a week in advance of coupon events and I found out the day before when I went to work. Both Harris Teeter and Lowe’s Foods are having Super Doubles this week. I do have a Lowe’s Foods card, I just haven’t taken out the time to really sit down and learn the ins and outs for that store. But I did get a few coupons together to get a few freebies at Harris Teeter.
My second trip I went on Friday and it was a bit rushed. I used the self checkout because the lines were kinda long. I won’t do that again. If I wasn’t paying attention I would have overpaid for my mascara because the coupon didn’t double on it’s own. From now on I’ll wait in line so I can see everything as it’s happening. I feel like I missed something else but I had to go pick up my daughter and was frustrated. I was also frustrated that my computer that is hooked to the printer was acting up and wouldn’t print a kellogg’s rewards coupon that would have gotten me free eggo waffles.
The sugar was 38 cents each. The poptarts was just change also. The mascara was 49 cents. The rice sides came out to 40 cents each. The dawn was 25 cents. The Sunny D was free.
I paid $13.30 before tax. Saved $37.89 at 74%.
I try not to get bummed about hiccups in couponing. Savings is savings. But I expected to come out less than $10 and I will never do self checkout again unless it’s less than a handful of items.
