In the few times I’ve gone to Harris Teeter later in the day on a Saturday, I’ve found that items I wouldn’t expect to be in stock, are. And I’m guessing that’s just because they’ve had more time to stock, because there were a lot of stockers and carts that I don’t usually see when I’m there first thing in the morning. The downside to that is that I don’t like all of the extra people in the store with me.
I had pre-calculated my total and as I was at the register I realized I had missed more than a few items. So I was bummed that I spent way more than I anticipated. However, I did get a lot.
I saved 58%. I paid $66.67 and saved $93.27
One reason I spent so much, is that I’ve received coupons in the mail for $10 off $50 purchase after coupons. So my goal was to do great with my coupons but that I would make up the difference with meats and my 5 hour energy that I always get. My items with coupons I expected to be around $40, but I ended up spending more than just $10 in the “extra” items.
The great thing with this trip is that I was able to get the Fruity Pebbles I didn’t get on the first trip for 69¢ each.
And I was able to get the Febreeze car clip for FREE.
The tampax pearl tampons for FREE.
The lysol wipes were the Saturday Special and they were 94 for both.
The barilla pasta entrees were FREE.
The ovaltine was 79¢.
The tide boost was $2.69 brought down from $7.69! score!
Even though I spent more than I expected, I still got a lot of things we needed and that will be great to add to stock. I know that if I had gone by myself and not been so irritated with having to keep getting the kids in line and wanting to get back home to watch Scandal, I would have been more focused and mindful of the extras I was picking up. My savings would have been higher, but it’s already done.
