When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions or Goals or whatever you call it…I think one of the biggest reasons that so many people fail is that they’re trying to do too much all at once. I like to consider that first two weeks of January up thru MLK day as your grace period.
Let’s face it…most of us are still trying to get over Christmas. And if we wanna keep it one hundred then I will say that for most of us, it’s not until February that we can really make things happen thanks to Uncle Sam and our tax refunds!
With that being said…it’s time to get on the grind. The grace period is about to expire and then it’s game time. Now is the time that if you haven’t already put your goals on paper…you do it. And you not only just list your goals. Get specific. Write down your why. Write down your how. And then you have to visualize it coming to pass.
So as I stated in my last post…my main priorities right now are about saving money and focusing on my health. I’m all about taking small steps…especially when you’re making big changes or more than one change. You will see many posts relating to these two topics because I need my blog to help me stay on track.
So what have I done so far in the first two weeks of the year? Well aside from working and still feeling hella burnt out from work the past few months…I’ve been trying to make a few conscious efforts. One thing I’ve done is to try to limit my sodas to one a day. I have failed at that when it comes to the weekends. But I’m working on it and it will be very strict after this grace period. I spent the first week trying to go to bed earlier so that I can get up earlier for workouts. I spent the second week acting as if the first week didn’t happen! lol Because sleep wasn’t happening as early as I would’ve liked this past week. I have cut down on my portions with eating. With saving money not much has been done and that mainly is due to getting over the holidays spending hump. So that will really get kicked off with this next paycheck.
I have discovered some amazing blogs for helping me in the money area. Some amazing websites too, that I’ve already known about but wasn’t using to my full advantage. I’m very excited about all of this information coming my way. Excited about all of the changes that are being made and that will be made. Now that I’ve actually put everything down on paper I feel like I can get started on this journey.
Let’s Go!!!
