I swear if I don’t get these posts up immediately they never get done! I may upload my previous posts, but I’m not sure. I’ve been getting many more questions from friends about couponing. It’s a reason to step my game back up with my posting.
Here’s today’s Harris Teeter trip:
This is my off week. In general my goal is to be between $60-$80 on my on week which is my payweek. On hubby’s pay week I try to stay under $40. Today I spent $47.45. Saved $64.47 which is 57%. Anytime I’m over 50% savings I’m a happy camper! And that’s including a few items that weren’t on my list.
Here’s just a few tidbits:
- It’s the week before Thanksgiving so you’ll find many seasonings, gravies, stocks, etc on sale. Now’s the time to stock up!
The McCormick brown gravy was on sale for 49¢ I got 3
Cream of Mushroom soup was on sale for 62 ¢ each, coupon was for 40 ¢ off 3 so I got 3 for $1.06
The Knorr homestyle stock was on sale for $3.00. I had a coupon for 65¢ off that doubled and I had an evic coupon for $1 so I only paid 70¢!!! Plus this was a Saving Star item. {will go into later}
Stove Top Stuffing was 99¢ and I had a coupon for $1 off 2 so I paid $1
The Lipton Beefy Onion mix was not on sale but I had a coupon for 60¢ off 2 and an evic coupon for 60¢ off 2. They were $1.85 each so I got 2 for $1.90. Also was a Saving Star item and something we use regularly so anytime is a good time to stock up.
- Anytime Dunkin Donuts Coffee goes on sale it’s a great thing! Especially when it’s the evic special! I love their coffee and if it wasn’t my off week I would have used my coupon for $1.50 off of 2, but since I had to be meager this time, I only got 1. It was on sale for $4.97 and I had an evic coupon for $1. $3.97 for coffee that normally costs $9 just makes me jump for joy!
- If you’re not signed up for evic emails from Harris Teeter then you are doing yourself a great disservice!!! The offers aren’t the same for everyone and they’re not going to show up on the online pricing. These prices are only for your household. So for my email I had the Green Giant boxed veggies on sale for 97¢ max of 10. I got 6 because I had coupon for 60¢ off 3. All together I spent $3.42 for the 6 boxes.
Also thanks to the evic email I got the McCormick grinders for only 97¢ I was only going to get 1 but they’re originally $2.55 each so figured it was worth it.
- Buy 2 get 3 free is the best deal around town! lol Usually that’s how I stock up when it comes to Harris Teeter. This week it was their Lay’s chips on sale and I’m super happy because lately the sales haven’t been really great on chips and they’re a staple in our household. Retail price for a bag of chips is $4.29. So for $8.58 I got 5 bags of chips that come to $1.71 each. Steal!!
- Freschetta Brick Oven Pizza is our family’s favorite pizza. On sale for $5 so I paired it with a coupon for 75¢ and got it for $3.50.
- I shop on Saturdays because of the fact that I get paid on Fridays and also because of Harris Teeter’s Saturday Specials. This week was the Gain detergent. It was on special for $3.97. I had a coupon for 40¢ off and a possible evic coupon that I wasn’t sure of. lol It had the wording “gain fabric freshner” so I didn’t think it would work. It was for $1 off and the picture looked like Gain detergent but I didn’t wanna count on it. I was pleasantly surprised to look at my receipt and see that I did get that $1 off!! So I only paid $2.77 🙂
I needed cooking oil but didn’t have it on my list. I just happened to be passing it and was shocked that this is what I saw! So the 64oz of Wesson Canola oil is on sale for $3.49 as is the 48 oz of the same oil! So I was like ummm, yeah if this is a typo I’m jumping on it because why pay the same price for less product?? Score!!
Lastly, I did buy the Caress body wash for the sole purpose of Saving Star! lol That and the Lipton Beefy Onion mix and Knorr Homestyle stock are all items I’m buying to earn savings on Saving Star. I did also have a coupon for 75¢ off and an evic coupon for $1. It was originally $3.99 (regular price not on sale) and I paid $1.49 plus it went towards my purchase for my Saving Star coupon.
I am not sure if I’ve posted about Saving Star before but if not, check it out here. In a nutshell, you load your store cards on the site, buy items it’s offering coupons for, the amt you get coupons for you then earn money to put into your Paypal for example. I’ll review my posts and if I don’t have one up, I’ll do one 🙂
