We’re coming to the end of January 2020! I hope the month has treated you well. For many it may have dragged on but I feel like the month has gone by rather quickly. I am feeling some kind of way about not having snow yet though. Hopefully we’ll get some snow before Spring. North Carolina weather is nothing if not unpredictable.
What have you been enjoying this month? Today I’m sharing my January favorites with you. A little of this and that of my favorite shows, podcasts and more.

The Morning Show
For Christmas we got Jordan his first phone. We’re an Apple family so we got him an iPhone 7. A few weeks ago I got an email saying that I got a year of Apple TV + for free. I was excited because I really wanted to watch The Morning Show which is exclusive to Apple TV.
I’ll admit I get rather irritated that every streaming platform has their own exclusive programming. Because I don’t want to pay for all of these multiple platforms. I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime and Disney + like enough already! But it was free so I downloaded it and started watching the show.
It is so good! SO GOOD!!! I’ve recommended it to a few friends and colleagues and got them hooked on it too. I can’t really share much detail but let me tell you that if you have access to it, then please watch it and let me know if you love it too!
Note: After watching a fellow blogger share her thoughts after watching the first episode I feel the need to share this…it’s not a light show. Going into the series you don’t know what to expect but I don’t want you to go into the show expecting a comedy. It’s not, but it’s really good and I say definitely worth watching.

CHEER
Speaking of shows, umm have you seen Cheer on Netflix? Again, SO GOOD!!! It will have you smiling and it will have you in tears and it’s just the best!
As soon as it popped up on my phone I started watching it and I was hooked! It has taken the internet by storm because it is such a great docuseries.
PLANNER STICKER ORGANIZATION
As a planner girl one of the issues I’ve had for years is how to organize all of the leftovers from my planner sticker sheets. I’ve shared before that I wanted to buy this sticker album before but I never pulled the trigger. Recently I saw in a planner Facebook group that Capitol Chic Designs had one available at Michael’s.
Capitol Chic Designs is a planner sticker shop who is one of the few small business sticker shops that were able to take it to the next level and have their products available in Michael’s stores. It’s very noteworthy because not only is she an awesome girl boss but she’s the first black girl boss from the planner community to take that leap and I’m really proud of her.
I saw that she had released a sticker storage album with Michael’s and I bought the last two I saw. I went to two Michael’s stores to find them. I’ll link them here but they’re only available in store right now, at least it appears that way because they’re out of stock online.
Ever since I purchased them, I’ve been going through my old stacks and stacks of sticker sheets and applying them in this album so that I can keep my leftover stickers organized. With them being in this one space when I need to use one I can easily find it. Every day for the past week or so I’ve been adding stickers because I really want them to be organized.
OFFICE LADIES PODCAST
My new favorite podcast that I’ve been loving is the Office Ladies podcast. It’s Jenna Fisher and Angela Kinsey from my favorite show The Office and they go episode by episode taking us behind the scenes. I really enjoy it and love listening to it every Wednesday when it comes out.
If you know me, you know I love fun facts and tidbits so I enjoy listening to all the tea 🙂
I decided to keep my January Favorites to a short list. I’ve done a lot of binge watching this month and one thing I really want to get back into is reading. I have so many half-read books that I really need to complete and that’s the goal for February.
If you’re like me and want to read more, I suggest starting with reading a page a day. Once I started that I was reading several pages a day and watching less TV. Then I fell off and there’s always something else that needs to be done right? Or instead of relaxing reading a book, I’d be relaxing watching TV or on my phone. I’ll be filling you in on my progress next month.
Next month tune in for my February favorites. I’m committing to it now! We’re going into Super Bowl weekend and I for one am very excited! A Super Bowl that doesn’t include the Patriots, with two great teams and J Lo doing the halftime show…count me in! And I was proactive and remembered to take Monday off to recover! haha
Hi Aria! I’m from North Carolina as well. This weather has been super bipolar this season. A few things that stuck out to me on your post were:
1. “Cheer” on Netflix is such a good show. I didn’t think I was going to like it at first. My mind was changed after the first episode. I definitely recommend.
2. You mentioned that you were a planner girl. I’ve been getting into using planners more often considering my hectic schedule. If you have any tips on how to keep your planners organized and neat for beginners, that would it awesome.
Great post!
Nieshia
Hey Nieshia!! Yes our weather is all over the place!! I like to watch cheerleading shows anyway because I always wanted to be one but this one was really really good right!
I will say that I’ve been planning for years and sometimes I’m on top of things and sometimes not so much and it’s a big hot mess! My biggest piece of advice would be to carve out some time, I do mine on Sundays and plan out the week and then check in with it daily. I have a post where I share my planning system https://blogsbyaria.com/2019/09/my-planning-system/ and hopefully that helps ♥
Thanks so much for commenting 🙂
