They always say January is the longest month of the year, but I think this January went by rather quickly. How about you? Maybe if we had a lot of snow and ice it would have felt worse. Although I know it’s definitely feeling horribly cold in many parts of the country and I am so sorry. I am talking January favorites today! Monthly favorites are things that are old or new that I am loving this month. With the goal being that I can keep it up sharing monthly favorites.
I hope you find some things that are new-to-you that you can enjoy!

Pioneer Woman Cookbooks : A Year of Holidays | Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl | Dinnertime
If you know me you know I love all things Pioneer Woman. I’ve always wanted to own her cookbooks. During the holidays I was at Walmart and I saw a display that had all of her cookbooks on sale for $10. So I bought the Dinnertime cookbook as a gift to myself. After the holidays I saw they still had a few books left and I got the other two. I love her cookbooks because she lays everything out step by step.
Now the only cookbooks I have left to get are the Food From my Frontier and the Come and Get It books. They’ll be added eventually but for now I am loving the three cookbooks I have.
I’ll share some of the recipes that my family loves in the future. None of them are low carb friendly but oh well. 🙂
When I saw the Marie Kondo Netflix show Tidying Up come up, I watched it one weekend and I really liked it. I’ve known about Marie Kondo and her book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up for years. But I wanted no parts of it. I’m really weird about liking things that everybody else likes. Does that make sense?
{The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up}
After watching the show I decided to get the book. It’s an easy read and I’ve gained a lot of great tips. I mentioned in a recent post how her idea of keeping only what sparks joy has changed how I buy things to bring into my home. I definitely recommend the show but also the book to dive deeper.
Of course with it being the New Year, one of my favorites is my Erin Condren Life Planner. I’ve been using it every single day. I’ve even used pages I’ve never used before to set my 2019 goals and to keep up with projects I’m working on. I’m not going to share them here because some of them are personal but I’ve already found my planner to be highly useful and effective, which is what we want with our planner right?
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out how to prepare your planner for the new year. I have been using all of the tips to stay on track with my life. I’m determined to make big moves this year and that includes using these tips to help make me successful in achieving my goals.
Because it’s January I am so excited that Victoria is back on! I am a lover of all things monarchy and I really enjoy watching Victoria every Sunday night on PBS Masterpiece. I can’t always watch it in full on Sunday because I try to get to bed early, but if I can’t finish it on Sunday night I watch it after work on Monday. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it. You can catch up on season 1 and 2 on Amazon Prime. Even if you’re not into the monarchy or period pieces, I say give the show a chance and you’ll love it as much as I do! I also recommend The Crown and Reign both on Netflix.
My January Favorites list isn’t long as you can see. I’ve been doing a lot of reading this month and organizing and tidying oh and being sick for half of the month. womp womp. But on the bright side, being sick has caused me to go to bed earlier and I’ve tried to keep that up most nights. Which means I’m getting over 7 hours of sleep on a regular basis. That’s the best!
I hope that your January was a great start to the year and here’s to an even better February! Until next time friends!
