Spring Outfit Try On

Stepping out of my comfort zone here and sharing a fashion post – a Spring outfit try on. In case you missed it, I’ve been on a weight loss journey and I’ve been putting in work in the gym. I’ve got a very long way to go but I’m starting to feel good in my skin. For a while now I’ve wanted to share outfit ideas from my size perspective.

Currently I’m a size 18. Some items and some brands I can comfortably wear a size 16. Until I can wear a size 16 across the board I’d say I’m a size 18. Hope that helps!

square neck top – wearing size 14/16

This top is a nice flowy option. I like the color and the lace detail. The square neck is a bit wide so that may impact your bra choice. It’s a great option for Spring especially if it’s warm-ish and not quite hot.

Can we please take a moment of silence for one of my favorite stores Express? I hate that they’re filing for bankruptcy because I’ve always loved them even tho for the past several years I couldn’t wear them at my size.

I’m wearing a size XL in this tee and could’ve sized down to a large.

babydoll smocked gauze top wearing size 14/16

This top is a take it or leave it for me. I like the color of course and the sleeves. I’m not in love with the fabric and I feel like the smocked bust, although comfortable, emphasizes my bust in a way that I don’t prefer.

Not until now did I realize that my mirror is dusty. But I really like this top. It’s great for casual wear but also I’ve worn in to work a few times with black pants.

tulip tee • denim mini skirt

Anytime you have a basic tee and add a little detail, I’m sold. I love the tulip sleeves on this tee. It also comes in black and another couple of prints. I wish it came in more colors like pink, blue and green because I’d get all of those! It’s a great little tee for Spring.

This denim mini skirt is very stretchy which is good but it’s not my favorite. It’s high rise which is great but there’s no structure at the top of the waist and I would feel much more comfortable wearing shapewear underneath.

I’m wearing a size 16 in the skirt. Because I knew it was pretty stretchy I didn’t want to get it in size 18 and it be too big too quickly.

tulip tee • boyfriend jeans

Typically I am not a fan of boyfriend jeans. But I like the fit of these. Based on the reviews I sized down to a 16 and I’m glad I did. These have quickly become my go to jeans because of the relaxed fit. Because I have worn them a few times I can say that they stretch/loosen with wear.
