When it comes to time and my blog I haven’t had much lately. These past few weeks have just been too crazy and frankly I love my blog too much to let cobwebs begin to form. So let’s get back to it shall we? I have so much to share with you! Starting with my daughter’s closet. I haven’t had a day off to myself since we moved to Raleigh and I’ve oh so needed it. Thanks to being off work for Columbus Day, I’ve been able to tackle a few projects around the house that I’ve procrastinated on.
I started puttering around the house finding better ways to keep things organized and I ended up in Brianna’s room. I’ve been on her about keeping her clothes hung up and nice and neat and I opened the door to her closet to put laundry away and I just had to reorganize it. I think I’m turning into my mother.

I was already making great progress when I thought to myself, why am I not taking a before picture? So here’s the before…or rather the middle…
I had wanted Brianna to keep her jeans hanging up. But I didn’t like the way she was doing it. I’ll share her bedroom in a future post, but her bed has two large storage drawers. So I decided to put all of her jeans there folded up.
Now the closet is freed up for shirts, sweaters, dresses and dress pants.
I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should get her Huggable Hangers like I have in my closet. I love my Huggable Hangers but I think she’ll be fine with basic plastic hangers. At least for now. I’d hate to find my nicer hangers on the floor ya know?
I cleared out the top of her closet and now that space is just extra space. Her mini backpack and handbags reside up there now. All of the stuffed animals have found a new place to live…for now.
We’re using this hanging shoe organizer to hold her sandals and dress shoes to help take up less space.
On the left hand side I cleared out this three basket organizer. It’s empty now and I’m not sure what we’ll use it for but I think this is a good place for it to be, unless I decide I can use it somewhere else in the house. On the other side of it is a violin we need to sell and her skates.
Before we moved to Raleigh I wanted to get some fashion looks for a post. Unfortunately I only was able to get a couple before we were swept up in the whirlwind of the move. I want to get more pictures but I don’t know where to go here! I still have so much exploring of our new area to do.
shirt: Kohl’s shorts: Mudd sandals: Target
Since we’re officially in Fall I can’t link anything from this picture. I buy a large amount of her clothes at Kohl’s now that she’s in the Juniors section. I can take advantage of sale prices and extra coupons all of the time and get clothes that we both can agree on. Now that we have more shopping selection we’ll see if we can find other stores we love. A lot of her back to school shopping was done at Aeropostale too.
{flower jacket – similar | cami | moto jeans | rhinestone combat boots}
It was so hot outside when we took this picture! Future model training 🙂 I love these blush moto jeans we got from Kohl’s. The black cami also came from Kohl’s. I linked a similar bomber jacket and the rhinestone boots are no longer available. They were from Justice.
I’m so glad that Brianna no longer has to wear school uniforms and can express her own sense of style. Now I just need her to keep her organized tween closet neat and tidy and we’ll be in business! I’ll try to share the progress we’ve been making in her bedroom soon.
