I love when I can share a new Parade of Homes tour with you! Sometimes I see houses that are unfurnished and I still want to share them. Because yes, I love to look at home decor, but I love the architectural designs and details even more! Today let’s take a look at the Wexford Woods house!

At first glance, this exterior can appear rather boring. The shaker shingles, siding and painted brick are actually quite beautiful up close.
The Wexford Woods house is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. As you can see, it was already sold at the time of viewing. It features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and comes in at 3,692 square feet. At the time of viewing it was listed at $775,500.
I saw a lot of homes in this neighborhood and they were all pretty much in the price range with good size lots. The neighborhood is still in it’s early stages, and I’m expecting to see even more homes in the Parade of Homes tour this fall.
One of the features that got some oohs and ahhs was this floating staircase. It’s a nice concept but…
The underside of the staircase looks pretty odd to me. I think a floating staircase can be cool if it wasn’t in the center of the room. It does make for a very open main floor, but to me it’s pretty awkward.
Off of the entry there is a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Look at how high these ceilings are! This room could be used as a guest bedroom or as a home office.
Off of the foyer is the dining room. Love the statement wall!

Past the floating staircase is the large family room. It features wood beams in the ceiling and floating wood shelves flanking the fireplace. I like the contrast of the vertical shiplap behind the floating wood shelves.
Heading towards the kitchen from the family room there is a nice breakfast nook with vertical shiplap.
The flooring throughout this home is simply stunning!
My favorite room in the Wexford Woods house is the kitchen! If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I love a white kitchen. Instead of white, the cabinetry is a light grey which is very popular these days.
This kitchen is the perfect size and shape. So often kitchens are modified galley style and this kitchen is a traditional U shape.
Just look at all of this storage! Lots of drawers for pots and pans which is my favorite. Do you ever wonder what people with large kitchens like this store in all of their cabinets? I do! Although I will say I’ve heard before that when you do have a large kitchen like this, you should leave a third of the cabinetry empty.

It’s so rare these days to see a kitchen sink facing a window. That’s something I used to really want but nowadays most kitchen sinks are in the island.
The kitchen island features a beautiful wood stain and a prep sink. Even better, it offers tons of usable counter space! I could have done without the prep sink and just had a full island, but that’s just me.
I am absolutely obsessed with these gorgeous cabinet pulls!! I don’t even like gold or brass (of course you can get them in other finishes) but I wouldn’t even care what color they are, these are stunning. They remind me of some I’ve seen at Restoration Hardware for a fraction of the price.
Kitchenaid built in oven convection microwave and oven · multi-door refrigerator
The double set of drawers under the oven are perfect for storing baking sheets, muffin pans and cake pans.
Kitchenaid convection gas range
I love that they went with a full range versus a cooktop. That way you still get a separate oven.
I’m standing in the pantry taking this picture into the kitchen. It makes me wish I could see this home furnished because I know that by adding furnishings and rugs would bring in so much warmth.
WALK IN PANTRY
I love this walk in pantry! Anytime a builder thinks to add some functional details to the pantry I am a fan. You can’t be five levels of shelves not including the floor!
Recently I shared my small pantry organization and what I wouldn’t do for a pantry like this!
Off of the dining room is a butler’s pantry with floating shelves. It’s not too large but with the size of the kitchen, it certainly doesn’t need to be.
What I love about this laundry room is all of the storage! With the top shelf, the floating shelves and the cabinetry there’s plenty of storage even though it’s not an overly large space.
The laundry room is tucked off to the far side of the kitchen. You can see a peek of it in the kitchen pictures above. Honestly the laundry room is beautiful but the placement is not practical. The master suite is on the first floor on the opposite side of the house along with the guest bedroom. So to have to go all the way through the kitchen to access the laundry room isn’t the best idea.
In my opinion, if the laundry room is going to be on the first floor it should be near the mudroom, if not the master suite.
The mudroom is located off of the side load three car garage. I love the combination of both closed doors with the open hooks so everything isn’t just out in the open.
The master suite is also on the first floor and carries in the wood beams from the family room. It’s a great size and I love all of the natural light coming through all of the windows.
A beautiful barn door leads from the master bedroom to the master bathroom.
Walking into the master bathroom I am loving this custom double vanity. So much storage and I even like the open shelving.
The master bathroom brings the Wexford Woods home to the next level! I love the walk in shower and they still found a space to include a freestanding soaking tub. I know many people don’t like a bathtub in the master bathroom anymore but I’m not one of those people!
Upstairs there are two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. I had to capture one of the bedrooms for you to see not only the largeness of the room but the height of the ceilings accented by custom trim work.
Also on the second floor is a very large bonus room. The bonus room has a great built-in entertainment center! You could put a massive TV here or better yet, a projector screen.
There is a lot of unfinished storage on the second floor as well as an area for a future study, home office or an extra flex space.
Overall the Wexford Woods house is gorgeous and it provides a lot of design inspiration. It’s not the house for my needs mainly because of the floating staircase, but I still enjoyed taking a tour of this home. And I hope you enjoyed it and found some design ideas for your remodel or your dream home too!
