It hit me like a ton of bricks this week that this week is Thanksgiving. How is this possible? I thought I was ahead of the game and here we are, staring Thanksgiving in the face. That means I need to start sharing my holiday decor with you! Of course, if you’re following me on YouTube you see the progress. Because I share decorate with me videos on YouTube you see spaces decorated before they come to the blog. The blog is for the “after” shots. Today I’m going to show you the “after” shots of my Nutcracker Christmas Living Room.
In case you missed it, I revealed my theme for this year in my Christmas decor planning post. I’m obsessed with nutcrackers and although a lot of people seem to be this year, for me it’s been one of my favorites for the holiday season.

NUTCRACKER CHRISTMAS TREE
Queen Slim Flock Tree • similar tree skirt • similar tree skirt • nutcracker ribbon
Of course we must start with the star of the show – the Christmas tree! I’ll share another post with more details because I’m not quite happy with the topper as it is. But for now you can see how I styled my Christmas tree in the nutcracker theme.
Let’s talk about the tree. It’s the King of Christmas Queen Flock Slim tree. She’s stunning! I’ve wanted to partner with King of Christmas for years and I’m so grateful to finally have the opportunity! I went back and forth on getting the slim version or the fuller one and I think either would have been perfect in this space. Although this is a slimmer tree it’s not quite as slim as my Christmas tree from last year. Which I’m glad about.
RELATED POST: GREEN AND GOLD CHRISTMAS
green tartan plaid pillow • similar nutcracker pillow
Using nutcracker ribbon along with a few well placed oversized nutcracker ornaments really makes a statement and drives the nutcracker theme home. The ornaments are from Hobby Lobby and I could only find the three I have. I feel that’s enough, but would’ve added two or three more if I could.
good tidings sign • green velvet pillows
My Good Tidings sign is from Kirkland’s and honestly when I saw it online I wasn’t excited about it. However when I popped into Kirkland’s several weeks ago to see if they were stocked for Christmas I saw it and fell in love.
It’s simple yet beautiful. And I love that it’s not too anything. Meaning, it’s not too red like an old sign I have. Or too rustic like the one in my dining room. It’s clean, crisp and lovely.
You’ve seen these green velvet pillows before, however I don’t have them filled with the right sized inserts. When we moved I got rid of a lot of my pillow inserts and I don’t want to buy a bunch now.
NUTCRACKER HOLIDAY DECORATING IDEAS
norfolk pine berry stems • console table • nutcrackers • cane and wood boxes • similar flocked tree
Adding these norfolk pine berry stems to my vase added the perfect mix of red and green to this space. I kept the bottom simple and added more of my nutcrackers and a holiday picture of the kiddos to finish the look.
cedar stems • gold tray • balsam and berry candle • coffee table
Keeping my coffee table pretty simple and somewhat similar to my centerpiece from last year. Last year I could only get a few of these cedar stems so I’m glad they’re back again this year so I can have a fuller arrangement.
NUTCRACKER PILLOWS
bookshelf • tv stand • letters to santa mailbox
Of course my trusty nutcrackers have their pride of place flanking my tv stand. I’ve had them for a few years now and I got them from Sam’s Club. I love them because they are dressed in beautiful Stewart plaid ♥
If you’re not following me on socials, I took the popular Hobby Lobby cedar garland and spray painted it. The tips are too yellow for my liking and I love how it turned out.
NUTCRACKER STYLED SHELVES
gold bell (top shelf) • large rustic bell • small rustic bell
One question I’ve received a lot on my reels of this space is about this deer artwork on my tv. It’s from Vintage Art TV. You don’t have to have a frame tv in order to display beautiful art. As long as you have a smart tv and can access YouTube you’re good!
It took me a few weeks to figure out how to add my stockings. I tried them on my console table but felt that was too busy and visually cluttered. Originally I planned to have them here on the tv stand but I was having difficulty with placement.
They’re being held up by the outdoor light clip Command hooks. Those are also what I’m using to hold up the garland. I have the hooks holding up the stockings on the sliding doors.
In pictures above you’ll see a longer ribbon. I will replace the ribbon, but I ended up using the longer ribbon in my kitchen and need to tie another longer bow.
green knit throw blanket • stewart plaid pillow • accent chair
I absolutely love how my Nutcracker Christmas living room came together. It’s the perfect mix of red and green and of course my nutcrackers take center stage!
In a world of beige and brown Christmas decor I’m happy to deck my halls with red and green 🙂 I’ve come a long way over the past few years with my Christmas decorating. Last year I focused on greens and golds and I felt I swung the pendulum too hard. Now it’s the perfect mix if you ask me. And I’ll assume you did 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving my friend. I’m thankful for you being here ♥ If you’re in need of a break from family, come join me on my YouTube channel and catch up with my decorating or my vlogs. I’d very much appreciate it!
