So much to share, so little time! I can’t believe Christmas is next week!!! Are you ready? I definitely am not. So be prepared for a lot of Christmas decor that I haven’t shared to come your way rapid fire. At least that’s the plan. If I can share anything I want to share the rest of my living room decorated for Christmas. In case you missed it, I recently shared our tartan plaid Christmas tree. Now let me show you our Christmas living room.

I absolutely love how our Christmas living room turned out! It all started with this sign that I first eyed a couple of months ago when I was doing my holiday decor window shopping. Once I put it up, the vision came to life!
The flocked wreaths are the perfect finish touch! I did get a little crafty with my hot glue gun and made the bows 🙂 That’s about as crafty as I get around here.
I’ll include a source list at the end of the post. Unfortunately a lot of what I have is no longer available but that doesn’t mean it won’t be next year.
Do you notice something new since I shared my last post? The beautiful pillow with the stockings! My mom got two of those pillows for me from Belk! My Christmas pillow collection is complete!
Now I realize I didn’t take an updated picture of my love seat but it is very similar to how it looked when I shared my decorating progress.
FLOCKED STAIRCASE GARLAND
Last year I was scratching my head on exactly how we’d hang our stockings. I loved that I hung them from the staircase with some garland. This year, I wanted to go bigger.
First I tried to swag the garland and that didn’t work out too well. So I decided to stick with simply tying it to the banister. I liked how that looked but after I had it up for a couple of days, I wanted it to be fuller.
The flocked garland is from Walmart and was selling out left and right. I was able to get another one and that night after work I took the garland and stockings down and created what you see here.
After weaving in this beautiful ribbon and adding ornament picks and glitter pine cone picks it was perfect!
I added the lit garland ornaments just to add some lights. I really was looking for either a felt ball garland or garland that said Merry Christmas and I was coming up short.
Then I got some battery operated string lights from Walmart (I’ve been loving them everywhere) that are on a timer. They have lots of settings but I prefer them on solid white.
Are you team flocked or team green? I like both and felt that by having the flocked garland and the flocked wreaths I’d be able to enjoy the best of both worlds.
DECORATED CHRISTMAS SHELVES
Moving over to my bookshelf that I had such a vision for…I really struggled to get this all to come together.
In my mind I had a nutcracker and flocked mini tree with tartan plaid gifts theme. In reality I just couldn’t pull it together in the way that I envisioned it.
I either had the shelves looking too cluttered or too bare. I couldn’t find a happy medium. But at this point, we’re going to roll with it as is.
I may not have been fully satisfied with how my holiday shelves turned out, but I do love my basket. You may remember last year I got a beautiful red plush throw blanket. We still have it and use it regularly. But when I saw this tartan plaid throw from Kirkland’s this year I knew we had to have it. It’s super soft and the kids fight over it daily.
I got this pillow from Big Lots and since I love the saying, I had to pick it up.
Sorry for the glare off of the picture, but I am loving this cute Santa & Me picture frame I got from Kohl’s. I wanted to get one for Brianna’s Santa picture but hers is larger and doesn’t fit the frame. But it does fit the frame I picked up last year from Kohl’s so it’s a win.
CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM AT NIGHT
Is there anything better than Christmas lights? 🙂
There’s a few things I haven’t taken pictures of in our living room. Namely my other bookcase. I’ll try to share that in a day or so. Our living room features the majority of our Christmas decor and I couldn’t be happier with it. I love all of the red and honestly, the tree makes me smile every single day. I’m going to be sad to take it down but happy to know that I’ll see it again next year 🙂
